Camp: Notes on Fashion | The Metropolitan Museum of Art
If you are in New York between now and September, you need to go check out “Camp: Notes on Fashion” at The Met - which is on view through till September 8, 2019.
The exhibition showcases the historical and cultural journey through delicately hand made garments— also through the writings of Susan Sontag, Oscar Wilde & Christopher Isherwood just to name a few.
Expect to see pink and over the top gowns and dazzling costumes. There is really not a definite answer to what camp is, leaving the meaning subjective to each viewer.
If you are a fan of the year Met Gala show, and follow it annually for the fashion, you would thoroughly enjoy this exhibition.
